George Ramogi was a Kenyan musician and a driving force behind the "benga" music genre. In 1965, he co-founded the Luo Sweet Band, later known as the Continental Kilo Jazz Band (C.K. Jazz). Ramogi played a pivotal role in revitalizing traditional Luo benga and rumba music. His band's performances were marked by infectious rhythms and melodies. Some of his popular songs are Affline The Pretty, Born Smart and Ajali Ya Sondu. Ramogi's musical journey extended beyond studio recordings, as he and his band took their talent to the United States of America for performances.
