Ntokozo “K.O” Mdluli was born on 13 October in Soweto, South Africa, and raised in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga. After completing his studies in Public Relations at the Vaal University of Technology, he pursued his passion for music. In 2005, he co-founded the award-winning hip-hop group Teargas, which released several successful albums before disbanding in 2012.
K.O then embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album 'Skhanda Republic' in 2014. The project went platinum and introduced the “Skhanda” sound, a fusion of hip-hop and South African street culture. He followed with 'Skhanda Republic 2' (2017), 'PTY UnLTD' (2019), 'SR3' (2022), and 'Phara City' (2025). His 2022 single “SETE,” featuring Young Stunna and Blxckie, became one of the biggest songs in South Africa, earning multi-platinum status.
Alongside his music, K.O founded Skhanda World, a label and lifestyle brand, and has partnered with global companies, cementing his role as a leading figure.
