Heavy-K, born Mkhululi Siqula in Veeplaas, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, is a celebrated South African DJ, music producer, and composer best known for his Afro-house and dance music. He began his musical journey at a young age, producing the hit single “Lento” for Professor when he was just 16, an early achievement. In 2013, Heavy-K moved to Johannesburg to focus fully on his career and released his debut album Respect the Drumboss, which helped establish him in South Africa’s music scene. He continued to release successful projects including “1950” and later “Khusta,” with notable singles such as “Inde,” certified multi-platinum — and “Uyeke.”Throughout his career he has collaborated with major artists and remained a fixture on dance floors across Africa. Known by fans as “The Drumboss,” his work melds rhythmic Afro-house making him one of South Africa’s influential music producers.
