Bio
Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly called Ayra Starr, is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer-songwriter known for her hit songs "Bloody Samaritan" and "Rush." Starting as a model, Ayra transitioned to music, after garnering attention through her cover songs on Instagram. Inspired by artists like Aṣa, Beyoncé, and Rihanna, she captured the interest of Don Jazzy, with her song "Damage" in 2019, leading to a contract with Mavin Records. Her self-titled debut EP in 2021, featuring the hit "Away," marked her mainstream breakthrough. This set the stage for her first full-length album, "19 & Dangerous," in 2021, featuring the chart-topping single "Bloody Samaritan." Ayra gained international acclaim with the 2022 release of "Rush," earning a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance in 2024.
