Abolere Adegbola Akande, professionally known as "9ice," is a singer, songwriter, and dancer from Oyo State, Nigeria. He has gained recognition for his distinctive way of performing proverbial Yoruba songs. The massive recognition he received from the song earned him a spot on the stage for the 90th birthday tribute to Nelson Mandela in the same year.
Raised in Bariga, Lagos, Abolore Adegbola Akande, professionally known as 9ice, developed an early interest in music. 9ice gained early attention with "Little Money," "Ganja Man," and his appearance on Ruggedman’s "Ruggedy Baba." He released his debut album, "Certificate," in 2007 before achieving mainstream success with "Gongo Aso" in 2008. The album produced "Gongo Aso," "Photocopy," and "Street Credibility," featuring 2Baba. He won Best African Act at the 2008 MOBO Awards, while "Gongo Aso" earned major honours at the 2009 Hip Hop World Awards.
