Abdoulaye Diabaté is a guitarist and musician hailing from a family of griots in Cinzana-Gare, Ségou, Mali, He began his professional music career in 1973, and in 1975 he was recognized as a talented musician, joining orchestras and recording albums. In 1988, he began a solo career, releasing albums and touring the world with Souleymane Koly's Ballets Koteba. He continues to preserve and explore the traditional music of Mali through his albums and performances.
