Absolute Tonny, born Tony Musaazi, is a Ugandan trumpeter and composer whose jazz career began at age 11 in his school’s brass band and was shaped by a supportive family and deep cultural roots. A graduate of Kyambogo University, he debuted in 2017 with "Oli Wange," introducing his signature “fusion jazz” style. Tracks like “Black Trumpet” and “Entuuko” earned him both local and international recognition. He followed up with the "Tindiga (Town Trek)" EP during the COVID-19 lockdown and released "Do Me Good" in 2022, blending swing, funk, and traditional Ugandan rhythms. Tonny has performed at prestigious festivals, including Jazz Safari, Kigali Jazz Junction, Sapporo Jazz Festival, and Sauti za Busara. Beyond performance, he teaches at C&S Music School in Bugolobi and leads cultural projects that merge music with storytelling. His 2023 instrumental single, “Smooth Affection,” reflects his ongoing commitment to crafting music rooted in emotion, heritage, and contemporary relevance.
