Ade Wesco, born Adekolu Modupe, is a legendary juju musician from Nigeria. Despite not having any formal musical training, he became a self-taught guitarist, honing his skills through dedication and practice. He began his musical journey by entertaining passersby near the popular market square known as Oja Olorisa in Ifon. One of the significant highlights of Ade Wesco's career was his involvement in entertaining the Nigerian Army during the Nigerian Civil War between 1967 and 1970. Throughout his career, Ade Wesco and his band, the Destiny Dandies Band, gained recognition for their unique blend of juju, highlife, and traditional folk music. They recorded several LPs. Ade Wesco's contribution to the world of music serves as a testament to his status as an icon of Nigerian music.
