Bio

Prince Cyril Bamidele Abiodun Alele, better known as Admiral Dele Abiodun, is a Nigerian artist who ventured into music in the late 1960s, defying his parents' hopes for a medical career. After studying in Ghana, he founded Sweet Abby and The Tophitters, a music group that blended highlife with juju and afrobeat to create his distinctive 'Adawa' style. Throughout the 1970s, he released numerous singles and LPs, gaining international recognition for using the Hawaiian steel guitar in juju music. Despite a setback in the 1980s, he revamped his sound with Western elements, leading to successful albums like 'It's Time For Juju Music' and 'Confrontation.' Following a temporary hiatus, he returned in 2020 with the album 'God's Grace,' signaling a resurgence in his music career.
