Afel Bocoum (born 1955) is a musician from Mali, noted as a singer and guitarist. He began his career as a member of Ali Farka Touré's group ASCO, and Toure is often regarded as his mentor.He is from the town of Niafunke on the River Niger, and is a member of the Sonrai people. Bocoum is an agricultural advisor by profession. Bocoum uses music as a medium of communication, commenting on contemporary Malian society.

    Pierre Moutouari is a notable Soukous singer and songwriter from Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 1968, he began his musical career with The Super Band, later known as Orchestre Sinza, alongside his brother, Kosmos Moutouari. He attained solo fame during the 1970s cultural rebirth during the post-civil-war period. Pierre is a rare early Soukous contemporary who is still performing today. He worked with Sinza as they climbed to stardom, landing a record deal and winning a singing competition. Later in his career, he concentrated on developing new talent and promoting Congolese music, creating albums, and continuing his musical journey.

    Mohammed Malcolm Ben was a Ghanaian drummer, vocalist, producer, and arranger who gained international recognition for his solo album "African Feeling" released in 1983. Prior to this, he had already established himself as a successful producer and arranger in Ghana, having played in several bands such as Messengers Dance Band and T.O. Jazz. In 1970, he formed his own label called Ohianawa and produced his debut album with T.O. Jazz. In 1973, he changed the name of his label to African Feeling Organization. Throughout the late '70s, Ben became famous for his work as a producer and composer with the African Brothers, and City Boys Band, producing hits such as "Agatha," "Owua Aye Me Bi," and "Ankwanobi."
