Allan Watson Waswa is a Ugandan violinist, musician, and actor based in Kampala. His musical journey began in 2015 through Makerere University’s Milege Acoustic Project, where he met guitarist David Tayebwa. Together, they formed the instrumental duo, The Tabs Ug, which was active from 2015 to 2018.
The pair gained recognition for their violin-and-guitar covers of popular film and television soundtracks, such as Game of Thrones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Last of the Mohicans. Over time, they transitioned into creating original music.
Their performances featured at various Kampala venues, private events, and prominent festivals, including the Milege World Music Festival and Pearl Rhythm Stage Coach.
Following the duo’s disbandment, Waswa embarked on a solo career. He released his debut album "In My Dreams" (2020) and the EP "Trying" (2021), both highlighting his emotive violin work. Influenced by the Dixie Chicks’ “Cowboy Take Me Away,” his sound blends instrumental, folk, and cinematic elements.
