Rwandan singer-songwriter Alli Talesi, born Aristide Igenukwayo Joviare, channels a richly layered upbringing into his evolving sound. Raised between Bugesera and Kigali, with early exposure to diverse communities near the Gashora refugee camp, he developed adaptability and cultural awareness that now shape his artistry. The youngest of three, his family history spans borders, including a sister born in the Democratic Republic of Congo during their parents’ time in a refugee camp.
Alli discovered songwriting in primary school, nurturing creativity alongside academic excellence. He graduated from College Saint Ignace-Mugina with strong results, and now balances music with Civil Engineering and Environmental studies at the University of Rwanda.
His music blends R&B, Afropop, Afrobeats, Zouk, and traditional Rwandan elements, influenced by Chris Brown, Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, and Justin Bieber. Singles like “Uwo Ushaka,” “Urugo Ruhire,” “Dis-le Moi,” and “Over the Moon” mark his rising presence within Rwanda’s contemporary music scene today.
