Angela Kalule didn’t just sing her way into Uganda’s heart; she built a legacy note by note. A Ugandan singer-songwriter, bandleader, and radio presenter, she fuses soul, blues, and Afro-fusion with storytelling rooted in culture and emotion. From her early days in Nairobi and Kampala schools to joining Kato Lubwama’s Diamond Ensemble in 1997, Angela’s path was destined for music. Her breakout song "Akamuli" and later collaborations like “Akasisi” and Dark Chocolate (2004) shaped her unique sound.
Her 2006 album, Kakondo, and hits like Katikitiki and Kankwekumire solidified her status. In 2010, she formed the K’Angie Band, and by 2011, she had won Song of the Year and Best Live Band Single at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards.
Now based in the U.S., Angela performs while advocating for media fairness, women’s rights, and mental health. A mother of three, she balances music, motherhood, and activism with grace.
