Bio
Angell Mutoni is a Rwandan rapper, singer, and poet whose voice carries both edge and intention. Born in Uganda and raised across Rwanda and Canada, she wrote her first song at 17 and began performing with the collective Dark Matter Entertainment. Her music blends hip-hop, soul, R&B, pop, and occasional trap, with lyrics centered on confidence, identity, and breaking stereotypes. She has released three mixtapes and EPs, including 'For Now' with Dr. Nganji in 2023. A finalist in the 2016 RFI Découvertes, Angell has performed at major festivals and co-founded the Eclectic Nappy Heads Collective. She also co-hosts 'The Kila Kitu Podcast,' as she amplifies Rwandan stories with honesty, creativity, and purpose.
