Avril, with real name Judith Nyambura Mwangi, is a singer-songwriter, actress, and entertainer from Kenya. She began her music career in 2008 after being signed by Ogopa Deejays. She released her debut album, "Friday," in 2009, which featured the hit single "Mama," and quickly rose to fame in the Kenyan music scene. Avril's musical style incorporates a mix of R&B, pop, and dancehall, and she has collaborated with several notable artists, including Amani, Victoria Kimani, and Yemi Alade. She's also an actress with main appearances in several Kenyan television shows and films. Throughout her career, Avril has won several awards, including the Kisima Award for Best Female Artist in 2010 and the Nzumari Award for Best Collaboration in 2017.
