Moses Ssali, professionally known as Bebe Cool, is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and record executive whose work has shaped reggae, dancehall, and Afropop in East Africa. Born in Kampala, he performs in Luganda, Swahili, and English. He launched his career in Nairobi, Kenya, in 1997 as one of the earliest artists signed to Ogopa DJs before returning to Uganda. Early hits including "Fitina," "Mambo Mingi," and "Sambagala" established his regional reputation.
Between 2004 and 2007, he won the Pearl of Africa Music Award for Best Reggae Artist four consecutive times and later received multiple HiPipo Music Awards and Kora nominations.
In 2008, he co-founded the East African Bashment Crew with Necessary Noize and performed at Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday Tribute. Founder of Gagamel Entertainment, Bebe Cool also supports charitable health initiatives while continuing to record, mentor artists, and tour.
