Bio
Benjamin Dube is a legendary South African singer, songwriter, and pastor, widely recognized as the "Godfather of Gospel." Born in 1962 in Johannesburg, he began his journey in the Dube Family Singers before his life was upended by his father’s murder in 1976. This tragedy deepened his spiritual resolve, leading to his 1986 breakthrough hit, "Holy Spirit," which achieved massive crossover success. Dube revolutionized the genre by blending traditional worship with contemporary R&B and jazz. His career soared with the platinum-selling “I Feel Like Going On,” and his renowned “In His Presence live series,” featuring anthems like "Bow Down and Worship" and "Jehovah Is Your Name." Beyond the stage, he is the Bishop of High Praise Centre and a mentor to countless artists. With multiple SAMA and Crown Gospel Awards, Dube remains a global icon of faith, resilience, and musical excellence.
