BioBenson Idonije is a prominent Nigerian music critic and presenter who notably managed Fela Kuti and contributed to the global rise of Afrobeat. He helped co-establish Radio Nigeria 2 in 1977, starting his career as an engineering assistant with the Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation in 1957. With a history of insightful music reviews dating back to 1953, he received the Journalism Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Currently, he serves as a fellow at the Adam Fiberesima School of Music and Conservatory at the University of Port Harcourt.
