Born Jorge Da Silva Bidinte, Bidinte was a gifted composer, singer, and musician from Guinea-Bissau. His melodies were well-known for fusing Afro-Portuguese rhythms with southern Spanish traditional sounds, and Bissau-Guinean gumbé. Biddinte, who was born and bred in the city of Boloma, Guinea-Bissau, relocated to Portugal in 1988, where his career took off. A few years after going solo, he released his debut album, "Kuruma."
