His songwriting journey commenced in the 80s, and he officially entered the music scene in the 90s, earning automatic entry into his church choir after a talent hunt. In 1995, Azadus became a part of Nigeria's hip hop movement DEF "O"CLAN. By the year 2000, he inked a deal with Kennis Music, a significant move in his career. Notably, Azadus made history as the first reggae artist in Nigeria to be nominated for Reggae Artiste of the Year at the Kora Awards.
