Bimi Ombale was a renowned Congolese singer, drummer, and songwriter who began his musical journey in 1969 with the Zaiko music group. Despite opposition, he joined Tabou National but returned to Zaiko after a while. Ombale focused on songwriting and released his first hit, "Joliba," in 1971. Leading Zaiko in the '70s, he wrote seven songs and enjoyed great success. Ombale's creative force led Zaiko to release hits like "Ima" and "Aziza." In the '80s, he restructured the band as Tout Choc Anti Choc Zaiko Langa Langa and continued producing hits. After leaving Zaiko, he formed Basilique Lonigisa and embraced Christianity, dedicating himself to gospel music until his death. Bimi Ombale's prolific songwriting and influence on Congolese music are enduring legacies.

In 1979, Mbaye joined Youssou N'Dour's band, Super Étoile de Dakar, and helped to shape their sound. In addition to his work with N'Dour, Mbaye has also released several solo albums.
