Faya TessCongo |1966| FrenchKishila Ngoyi, known by her moniker Faya Tess, is a rumba and soukous singer. In 1966, Faya-Tess was born in Kinshasa, in DR Congo. In 1988, when the dance was at its peak, she joined Afrisa International.
After ten years within Afrisa, she embarked on a solo career with her album Keba in 2000, which means Be careful I'm coming. This album mixes different styles she has mastered throughout her career.
She has recorded with many of Congo's biggest stars, like Tabu Ley Rochereau and M'bilia Bel, setting hits with searing old-school dance beats. For the hit, On "Bana" (Children), she collaborated with Lokua Kanza, known for his lovely acoustic compositions. March 14, 2010, FAYA TESS celebrated her twenty-five years of career.
