Busiswa Gqulu, professionally known as Busiswa, is a South African singer, songwriter, poet, and performer whose commanding spoken-word style has made her one of the defining voices in contemporary South African music.
Born in Mthatha and raised in Umlazi, she first gained national recognition as a performance poet before transitioning into music through her breakthrough collaboration with DJ Zinhle on "My Name Is." Blending gqom, Afro-house, amapiano, kwaito, dance, and contemporary African pop, she has built a distinctive sound rooted in rhythmic storytelling.
Her releases include "Highly Flavoured," "Summer Life," "My Side of the Story," "Honey & Grace," "Asambe," "SBWL," "Where You Dey Go," "Coming," and "Eazy."
