Bio
Comfort Oluwafemi Omoge was a talented musician from Ondo State, Nigeria, who began her musical journey at the young age of 14 before fully embracing it at 17, with the support of her husband, the Oba of the Igbodigo kingdom. She revitalized Asiko music (the traditional song of the Ikale people from Ondo State), using only indigenous instruments. Comfort released her debut album in 1976, setting a precedent as the first female professional musician in her community. Her music, addressing diverse themes like politics and morality, gained international recognition, earning her a nomination for a prestigious cultural festival in the USA in 1984. Despite her passing in 1999, her legacy remains an integral part of Nigerian music history.
