Simon Nkabinde was a mbaqanga singer from South Africa. Nkabinde, also known as the "Lion of Soweto," is widely regarded as the originator of the deep-voiced, basso profundo "groaning" style that came to represent mbaqanga music in the 1960s. Mahlathini began his musical career as a youngster, performing in church choirs and leading a traditional chorus that played at township weddings and other events. Then, in the late 1950s, through his brother Zeph, he became involved in the music industry and began to establish a name not just as a vocalist but also as a distinctive stage personality.

Neville Beckford, also known as Jah Woosh, was a Jamaican reggae musician and DJ born in Kingston in 1952. Jah Woosh began his music career in the 1970s, recording his first single "Angela Davis" in 1973. He was known for his conscious lyrics and unique DJ style, which earned him the nickname "The Deejay Commander." Jah Woosh released numerous albums and collaborated with many other reggae artists throughout his career. Jah Woosh died in 2011.

Orchestra Zib-Hombers of which I can’t seem to find any decent information. Mabuse, it’s front man appears to be Congolese but one of our visitors once suggested they are from a mid African country like Gabon or Cameroon. The music which was recorded by Namaco in Nigeria is called Rumba from Zaïre if you believe suggestions made on Amazon. The lyrics are sung in French and English. All together I am a bit confused, Are we dealing with a Congolese group, they mostly use the term ‘orchestre’ in stead of ‘orchestra’. Melodies make me believe it is more highlife than rumba, alhough sleeve says ‘sukus’.. it is most certainly no soukous to my opinion.

A.K Yeboah, with birth name Antony Kwabena Yeboah, is a highly influential Highlife musician from Ghana. He began his career in the 1950s and went on to form his own group, K.K.'s No.2 Band in 1969. Yeboah was known for his exceptional skills as a guitarist, and his music was loved for its infectious rhythms, catchy melodies, and heartfelt lyrics. Aside from his success as a musician, Yeboah was also a beloved father and mentor to many aspiring musicians, including his son Kwame Yeboah, who also became a successful musician. A.K Yeboah's legacy continues to inspire new generations of artists, and he is remembered as a true pioneer of Ghanaian Highlife music and a legend of African music.

Aibor Bello was a well-known Nigerian artist and songwriter who left a lasting imprint on highlife and juju music. Raised in a musical family, Bello began performing at small venues in the 1960s before forming his band, Aloagbaye, in the 1970s. Aibor has many albums to his credit, backed by his extensive tours across Nigeria and Africa. Sadly, he passed away in the early 1990s, but his impact continues to live on.

Desmond Rex Williams (born 20 July 1933) is a retired English professional snooker and billiards player. He was the second player to make an official maximum break, achieving this in an exhibition match in December 1965. Williams won the World Professional Billiards Championship from Clark McConachy in 1968, the first time that the title had been contested since 1951. Williams retained the title in several challenge matches in the 1970s, and, after losing it to Fred Davis in 1980, regained it from 1982 to 1983.
