WOII David Kombo Mwakiwiwi, brother to legendary musician Solomon Kombo, joined the military in 1984. He discovered his passion for music as a vocalist with the Maroon Commandos Band within the barracks, composing hits like “NIDHAMU,” “BIBI NITARUDI,” and “SAADI.” From 2006 to 2019, he led the band after taking over from Sgt. Tuesday Oguro, before handing over to Ssgt. Johnie Magneto in 2019.
