David Mello sometimes known by his alias Dave Ramone is an American musician, best known as the drummer for Operation Ivy, an American hardcore ska punk band. Before joining Operation Ivy, he played in local bands like Rabbi Conspiracy and Distorted Truth in the Berkeley and Albany areas. He played a crucial role in Operation Ivy's formation and performances until the band's breakup in 1989. Post-Operation Ivy, he briefly joined the punk/ska band Downfall and later formed Schlong with his brother Pat Mello. Beyond his drumming career, Mello is also known for his contribution of his newly acquired guitar skills to bands like Jewdriver and Un'Cus and also to the drumstick design with Twotone Drumsticks.
