Deidré Visser first captured the hearts of South African audiences during the 2005 season of Idols South Africa, where she stood out for her technical vocal control and stage presence. Performing hits like Kelly Clarkson’s "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and Natasha Bedingfield’s "These Words," she secured her place as a top-tier contestant. Following the competition, she signed with Sony Music Africa and joined forces with fellow Idols finalists Kesha Charlton-Perkins and Nicky de Lange (Veronique) to form the girl group NKD.
As a member of NKD, Deidré achieved significant commercial success. The group’s debut single, "I Want Your Love," became a national anthem of sorts after being selected as the official theme for SuperSport. Their 2006 debut album, "What’s That Noise," earned the group two SAMA (South African Music Award) nominations. Throughout her time in the spotlight, Deidré was celebrated for her contribution to South Africa Pop music.
