Dennis East was a musical pioneer and producer from Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. His musical career began in the late 1960s, and he performed with The Rising Sons in the 1970s. He engraved his rhythms into the spirit of South Africa by co-founding the rock band Stingray with fellow South African virtuosos in 1979. Aside from composition, he embellished records for local artists including British saxophonist Andrew Young. Through Pump Up The Volume, CocaCola Pop Stars, and Popstars 2010, his presence lit up television screens. Dennis East's melody died in September 2022, at the age of 73, but his sound legacy lives on in South Africa's musical tale.
