Bio
Derrick Ndzimande is a South African gospel artist, pastor, and educator known for his long-standing role in Christian ministry and worship music. Born in Vermont Farm, Transvaal, he grew up in a faith-centred environment that influenced his ministry and musical direction. He initially worked in education as a teacher and school leader before fully focusing on gospel work. Over time, his focus shifted toward ministry and music that centres on prayer, spiritual growth, and everyday life experiences within faith communities. He became widely recognised for a distinct singing that resonated with church audiences. His body of work includes projects such as "Nangu UJesu," "Udlalelani Na?," "Halala NgoJesu," and "Ubusisiwe," which helped establish him as a key figure in South African gospel. He has also received lifetime recognition and an honorary doctorate in theology for his contributions. Beyond recording, he has supported other artists through production work, strengthening the gospel music space over time.
