Diamond Oscar, born Mbabali Oscar in Kasubi, Kampala, is a Ugandan dancehall and reggae artist known for his energetic style and flashy image. He began his music career in 2003 after losing both parents, using music to support himself. His bold fashion, tattoos, and streetwise lyrics earned him the nickname “Bling Bling Master of East and Central Africa.” Though never officially signed, he worked closely with GoodLyfe Crew, Radio & Weasel, and, later, Team No Sleep. He’s known for hits like “Nkyali Bubi,” “Superstar,” “Amina,” “Baawa,” “Take It Easy,” and “Terminator,” and collaborations with Jose Chameleone and Sheebah Karungi. After a quiet spell, he staged a comeback in 2024, declaring himself a Ugandan music legend while criticizing vulgarity in the industry. Oscar remains active, advocating for mental health awareness and creative integrity, cementing his place as a bold and enduring figure in Uganda’s urban music scene.
