DJ Dimplez, born Tumi Mooi, was a South African hip-hop luminary. Fueled by a lifelong passion for music, he joined Wits DJ Society during university. His impactful career began in 2004, marked by hits like "Way Up" with Cassper Nyovest, "Vacation" featuring Anatii & Da LES, and his feature on Riky Rick's "Amantombazane" remix. As the founder of Pop Bottles, a renowned hip-hop event in Johannesburg, he left an enduring mark. Sadly, DJ Dimplez passed away on March 6, 2022, from a sudden brain hemorrhage, confirmed by the Mooi family, leaving a void in the South African hip-hop community.
