Don Mike Le Gourou, born Philippe Michel Siéhi Iro, was a pioneering Ivorian singer in the coupé-décalé genre. Renowned for hits like “La Prudencia” and “La Prodada,” he shaped Ivory Coast's dance scene. Returning in 2015 with the maxi single "Devant derrière" and a dance of the same name, he also excelled as a nightclub manager. Sadly, he succumbed to lung cancer on Sunday September 10, 2017, in Abidjan at 51. Known as the "Master of Abidjan Nights," his impact extended beyond music, introducing concepts like "prodada" and "comporta." Despite battling illness, the artist had retired from the scene for several years.
