Bio
Dr. Abbey S. Kibalama is a Ugandan musician, educator, and evangelist whose passion for music and ministry began in childhood. Inspired by church choristers and guided by his father, a church lay reader, Kibalama mastered reading the Luganda Bible by age five. He pursued education at Kikandwa, Masuulita, and Bishop School, Mukono, later training as a teacher at Bishop Tucker Theological College. Starting his career in 1954, he co-founded the Independent Larks, his first music group. After embracing Christianity in 1957, he dedicated his talents to gospel music and founded the Jordan Crossers in 1965, which evolved into the Eschatos Bride Choir, a choir renowned for over 100 albums and cross-denominational reach. He has notably trained at the Haggai Institute and participated in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Conference. Honored with an honorary doctorate in 2009, he continues to direct the choir, fostering a lasting legacy in sacred music.
