Selinah Winnie Mashaba (Dr. Winnie Mashaba) is a celebrated South African gospel musician, television presenter, and entrepreneur who has become an iconic figure in the Southern African music scene. Born in Ga-Phasha, Steelpoort, Limpopo, she discovered her passion for singing as a child, standing on flat stones and using sticks as microphones.
In 1998, she boldly left school after Grade 11 to pursue gospel music. Her breakthrough came when her mother introduced her to Solly Moholo, leading to her 2000 debut album, "Exodus 20," which sold over 25,000 copies and launched a career spanning more than 15 albums.
Her accolades include a Crown Gospel Award for Best Female Artist and a Kora Africa Music Award nomination. In 2019, she received an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred Music from Trinity International Bible University.
She hosts Amahubo on Dumisa TV, founded Tswako Music & Projects, runs an insurance agency, and leads a foundation supporting vulnerable communities.
