Joy Tumusiime, known on stage as Empress, is a Ugandan dancehall artist who began with UG Records in 2010 and rose to fame after going solo in 2011. Her breakout moment came with “Bakuwe Kyonywa” alongside Nutty Neithan. Renowned for her fierce stage presence and messages of female strength, Empress earned a 2025 Africa Golden Awards nomination.
