From church choirs in Kinshasa to international stages, Fabregas Le Métis Noir has built a career that mirrors the evolution of modern Congolese rumba and ndombolo. Born Fabrice Mbuyulu, he first performed at the Catholic parish of Saint Alphonse, where choir participation nurtured his confidence as a young singer.
His nickname “Fabregas” began playfully after he appeared at rehearsal wearing a jersey of Spanish footballer Cesc Fàbregas, a name that later became his stage identity.
Early involvement with neighborhood groups such as Rue de Son introduced him to popular music before a major breakthrough arrived in 2007 when he joined Wenge Musica Maison Mère under Werrason.
After years of touring and recording with the orchestra, he launched a solo path with the album “Amour Amour” in 2012. In 2015, he founded Wanted Records and created the band Light Music Villa Nova, expanding his role as performer, dancer, producer, and bandleader.
