Franklin Boukaka, a Congolese baritone singer, guitarist, and prolific songwriter, was a trailblazing figure in the realm of Congolese popular music. Born into a family with a deep musical heritage, Boukaka's destiny was inevitably intertwined with the world of melodies. His musical journey began as he joined various bands, including the notable Cercul Jazz, where his talents flourished. In 1967, Franklin Boukaka embarked on a transformative path, breaking away from Cercul Jazz to pursue a solo career under his name. This transition marked a significant turning point, allowing his unique musical voice to shine. Boukaka's influence extended beyond his homeland as he ventured into international performances, but tragically, Boukaka's life was cut short in 1972, leaving behind a lasting musical legacy.

By combining elements of Cuban, Caribbean, and Latin American rumba with Congolese traditional music, Tabu Ley, together with guitarist Dr. Nico Kasanda, pioneered soukous, or African rumba, and expanded the reach of his music internationally. Rochereau has composed almost two thousand songs since making his professional debut in Joseph "Grand Kalle" Kabasele's band, African Jazz, in 1954. Sadly, Tabu Ley Rochereau passed away in 2013, leaving behind a rich musical legacy. His contributions to African music continue to be celebrated, and his music remains timeless.

Rising from a destined career as a technical teacher, he embraced his family's musical background and became a virtuoso guitarist. Joining Grand Kalle et l'African Jazz at 14, he gained recognition from legendary musician Jimi Hendrix. He co-founded L'Orchestra African Fiesta with Tabu Ley Rochereau after African Jazz disbanded. Docteur Nico's compositional brilliance shone through the success of "Kamulangu." Despite a hiatus after his record label's collapse, his musical legacy lives on. He passed away on September 22, 1985, leaving an enduring inspiration for generations.

    Bimi Ombale was a renowned Congolese singer, drummer, and songwriter who began his musical journey in 1969 with the Zaiko music group. Despite opposition, he joined Tabou National but returned to Zaiko after a while. Ombale focused on songwriting and released his first hit, "Joliba," in 1971. Leading Zaiko in the '70s, he wrote seven songs and enjoyed great success. Ombale's creative force led Zaiko to release hits like "Ima" and "Aziza." In the '80s, he restructured the band as Tout Choc Anti Choc Zaiko Langa Langa and continued producing hits. After leaving Zaiko, he formed Basilique Lonigisa and embraced Christianity, dedicating himself to gospel music until his death.
