Bio
Lazarus karanadu Shiimi better known by his stage moniker Gazza is a revolutionary Namibian musician and entrepreneur whose influence has defined the country’s modern urban sound. Rising to fame in the early 2000s, Gazza masterfully blended Kwaito, Hip-Hop, and Dancehall, creating a genre-blurring style that resonated across Southern Africa. As the head of Gazza Music Productions (GMP), he became the first Namibian artist to secure a major distribution deal with Universal Music Group, effectively bridging the gap between local talent and global markets. His discography is anchored by massive hits like "Shukusha" and "Mokasie," as well as international collaborations such as "Up, Up & Away" with Nyanda and "Abantu" featuring Cassper Nyovest. A recipient of the "Artist of the Decade" title at the Namibian Annual Music Awards, Gazza’s legacy extends into philanthropy and education advocacy. Today, he remains a titan of African music, celebrated for his relentless innovation and commercial dominance.
