Sennet Ntimane, professionally known as Given Black, is a South African producer, musician, and qualified filmmaker whose work is driven by a conceptual and systematic approach to sound. He treats each project as an exploration of mood, structure, and atmosphere, crafting instrumental narratives that balance intellectual intent with emotive depth.
He began creating music in 2011 as part of a band and transitioned into a solo career in 2014, a shift that pushed him to develop broader creative skills and versatility within the entertainment industry. In 2017, Sennet enrolled at Tshwane University of Technology, where he studied Film and TV Production while continuing to pursue music alongside his academic journey.
After graduating as a filmmaker, he established his own music label, Mabari Records, as well as a film production company, Fiohn Films. Through both music and film, Given Black operates at the intersection of calculated design and immersive storytelling.
