However, her true artistic independence blossomed when she embarked on her solo path. In 1997, she not only released her second cassette but also marked her first international venture. Among her notable works are albums like "Djoumara Djeli" and "À L'Ombre Du Grand Baobab," testaments to her musical prowess. It's worth noting that Mah Damba is not only a musical luminary but also happily married to the accomplished ngoni player, Mamaye Kouyaté.

    Foday Musa Suso (born 9 December 1953, in Sarre Hamadi, Wuli District, in the Upper River Division of The Gambia) is a Gambian musician and composer. He is a member of the Mandinka ethnic group, and is a griot. Griots are the oral historians and musicians of the Mandingo people who live in several west African nations. Griots are a living library for the community providing history, entertainment, and wisdom while playing and singing their songs. It is an extensive verbal and musical heritage that can only be passed down within a griot family.

    Ndongo Lo was a Senegalese artist who faced challenges before gaining recognition in the music industry. In 2000, he released his debut album "Ndoortel," initially only on cassette in Senegal. The album was successful, leading to tours in Gambia and concerts in Europe. It wasn't until his 2003 CD release "Tarkhiss" that he gained prominence in the US and Europe. Ndongo also founded "Le Group Jamm" and was known for his commitment to free expression. Sadly, he passed away in 2005.

    Charles Kofi Amankwaa Mann (1936 – March 20, 2018), known as C. K. Mann, was a Ghanaian highlife musician and producer whose music career extended over four decades. He was a member of the Moses Oppong band and he worked briefly as a seaman before joining. He joined the Ocean String Band where he led until 1965 and after the band got disbanded, he joined The Carousel 7, a newly formed band. He was spotlighted in 1969 when he released his single Edina Benya. In 2006, he was awarded the Grand Medal of Ghana and in 2013, his last album Wope Nyeho was released.
