Ignace Makengo Makape, professionally known as Grand Maitre Makengo Makape or simply Makengo Makape, is a Congolese traditional music guitarist and performer. He is responsible for the formation of the Congolese music group L'Orchestre Yamba-Yamba Beto-Ba. He leads the band, as their melodies are built around his guitar and that of his colleague Lutumba. Maitre Makape lives in Kinshasa and occasionally performs with his band.
