He first gained notoriety in 1963 with the song Ya Bahi El Djamel, which drove him to pursue a career in singing and violin.

His passion in arts led him to study acting at the Youth and Children Palace, and in 1975, his performance was awarded by then-Sudanese President Jaafar Nimeiry in an event. In his 20's, he started performing at exclusive events, later releasing his debut album in 1994. Over his career, he released 20+ solo albums, building a devoted Sudanese fan base with music blending urban Sudanese and Western pop, occasionally infused with African influences. Notably, his song "Juba" emerged during the Second Sudanese Civil War. Tragically, he passed away in 2013.
