Henry Katamba is a Ugandan singer, songwriter, and healthcare professional who likens music to a buffet, rich in flavors and genres.
Born in Masaka, Henry began singing at age seven in school and church choirs. He studied at Kasubi Church of Uganda School and Kibuli Secondary School before moving to the UK in 2001 to pursue a health and social care degree at London South Bank University, later working with the NHS.
Katamba gained national attention in 1999 with “Maitund afunye omubeezi,” a tribute to the Kabaka of Buganda’s wedding.
After debuting in 2006, he released hits like “Casanova” and “Abakazi tebakyakuula” in 2007. After a 10-year hiatus, his 2017 comeback album, "Enkuba," featured popular tracks like “Maliridde” and “Tuula.”
He has performed alongside Chaka Demus & Pliers, Diamond Platnumz, and Lucky Dube, and in 2021, he collaborated with Chosen Becky on “Tubyekole.” He continues balancing music and healthcare while advocating for industry collaboration.
