Goodman Mxolisi “Jabu” Hlongwane (born 10 June 1961 in Zola, Soweto) is a South African gospel musician, pastor, and songwriter. Raised in Dlamini, Johannesburg, he later completed his studies at Amangwe High School in KwaZulu-Natal. Before pursuing music full-time, he worked at Alusaf in Richards Bay, earned a degree in education, and taught English and communication science.
His passion for music began in school choirs and university ensembles, exploring jazz, African sounds, and worship. In 1994, he co-founded the renowned Joyous Celebration choir with Lindelani Mkhize and Mthunzi Namba, while also launching his solo career.
Since 2009, his Crosspower Experience series has blended live worship with contemporary gospel, often featuring his family. A multiple award-winner, including SAMAs and Africa Gospel Music Awards, Jabu now leads Crosspower Ministries in Johannesburg while continuing to inspire through faith, mentorship, and a lifelong devotion to gospel music.
