Jabu Khanyile was a South African musician and former lead vocalist of the Bayete Band. He started his career in the 1970s before joining Bayete as a drummer in 1984 and pursuing a solo career after the band's breakup in 1992. Khanyile shared the international stage with prominent artists like Papa Wemba, and Angelique Kidjo, won the Kora Award twice, and was recognized globally for his pan-Africanist approach to music. Unfortunately, Khanyile died in 2006 due to health complications.
