Jahman Eselem is a Cameroonian-born, Mali-established singer and musician and the son of an Elumba traditional chief. He developed a love of music at a young age and began singing. He had already released two albums in Cameroon before leaving for Mali, which helped establish him as a talented musician. In Mali, Jahman formed the band "Jahman & the Fari Knight Flame" and quickly rose to prominence in the Malian reggae scene, known for his powerful voice and musical ability.
