Jay Bahd, born Jackson Kwadwo Bawuah in Kumasi, Ghana, is a Ghanaian rapper and a pioneer of the Asakaa movement. Raised in Kumasi, he developed an early passion for rap, influenced by the city's vibrant street culture and American drill music. As a teenager, he began writing lyrics and recording with friends, later becoming a founding member of the Asakaa Boys collective.
He gained widespread recognition through Yaw Tog's viral hit "Sore," alongside O'Kenneth, City Boy, and Reggie, introducing Ghanaian drill to a global audience. Jay Bahd followed with "Condemn" featuring Kwaku DMC and "MOOD" with Skyface SDW, establishing himself as a leading voice in Ghanaian hip-hop. His projects, "Balle Au Centre" and "Above All," further strengthened his reputation.
He has collaborated with Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Shallipopi, Strongman, Beeztrap KOTM, and other notable artists, continuing to shape the evolution of Ghana's contemporary drill and rap scene.
