Born in Mindelo, São Vicente, Cape Verdean singer and dancer Jenifer Solidade Almeida has become a premier modern voice in Lusophone music. Possessing a husky, generous, and incredibly stylish vocal delivery, she spent her formative years refining her artistry by arranging vocal harmonies and backing esteemed icons like Tito Paris, Ildo Lobo, Nancy Vieira, and Mayra Andrade.
However, Solidade truly carved out her own name performing across vibrant Cape Verdean music clubs.
She achieved widespread international popularity late in 2013 following a viral video featuring her distinctive, coladeira-infused cover of "Hit the Road Jack."
Now a celebrated headliner and former touring member of the Cesária Évora Orchestra, she released her acclaimed debut solo album, “Um Click” ("One Click").
