Coming from a financially challenging background, he worked as a newspaper vendor and later became a taxi driver.
Launching into the music world, he founded Splash (formerly Flying Squad), leading the band to release many successful albums before his exit.
Dan later founded Dalom Distributors, producing acclaimed albums including "Sethopha" (2003) and gaining international recognition within and outside Africa, with his music earning many gold and platinum statuses.
Beyond music, Dan Tshanda was a highly successful businessman.
Tragically, he passed away in 2019 due to heart failure, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the South African music industry.
